Liu topped Taylor Yoshitake of Los Angeles, Calif., 1 up, in the round of 32 Thursday morning and then Emily McLennan of Queensland, Australia, 2 & 1 in the round of 16 Thursday afternoon.
Top seed Mika Liu of Beverly Hills, Calif. powered through Thursday’s morning and afternoon matches to move into the quarterfinals of the Women’s Western Golf Association’s 114th National Amateur Championship at Lancaster Country Club.

Liu will meet Sirene Blair of South Jordan, Utah Friday in a match that begins at 7 a.m. The winner will advance to Friday afternoon’s semifinals. The 36-hole final is set for Saturday.

  No. 2 seed Allison Cooper of Harrisburg, Pa. and Central Dauphin High School fell to Heather Ciskowski, Barrington, IL, by a score of 5 & 4.
Each day of the WWGA National Amateur is free and open to the public. The event concludes with a 36-hole final on Saturday.
